My journey in photography has always been a bit like taking two steps forward and one step back. During the first period I started here on this blog, I tended to take very few photographs, or at least to show them only one at a time, or even two at a time. In spite of myself, the result was a kind of sacralization of these meagre images - frames, titles, dedicated articles.
I've since made my trip to Dignes, and brought back a bunch of photos that I posted all at once, and I fell in love with the format. The problem that soon arose was that by showing so much, you tend to want to show more and more. We've gone from series of twenty photos to thirty, forty, fifty photos per article on all the latest series. I think it's time to get back to something more reasonable.
We're on vacation, in the middle of the afternoon, in unbearable heat. The streets have emptied of all silhouettes, and the only people around are the neighbor in his pool and the few cars passing by. Now that's the spirit of July/August in the middle of nowhere.
