Nature
I first started dipping into naturalism at one of my lows, back when we were launching a birdspotting app and I wanted to help test it. I got into it immediately and combined with my daily mental health walks it really made me dive back into nature, and appreciate how healing it was to see life's good parts.
As I was already enjoying learning all kinds of stuff about fungi, I started collecting/identifying those I found in the wild as well. Because I'm not an expert I just like to catalog what I find but I don't always know their names and don't want help okay! It's for the fun of learning and exploring.
Eventually I started adding my origamis, plushies, and anything remotely animal to this page and it became one giant ode to nature's million follies.

One of those insects that strike fear from the legends around it more than from reality! What is funny is that while both the english and french (ear piercer) share an “ear” theme they do so for different reasons since their wings are ear-shaped. Regardless I remember being told as a kid they crawled into ears and pierced them with their rear-pincers which is more what the french name went for, and that scared me so much cause I was like shit I’m already supposed to be swallowing spiders now I’ll get a piercing in my sleep what the fuck?? Luckily these guys are innocent and really just cool looking in the end 😛

My family’s had two beautiful Golden Retrievers and both girls were the absolute gold standard when it comes to being the nicest and prettiest dogs in the world 🐾

It’s been a weird ride for me to slowly understand what is a dove, a pigeon, or a “fake” pigeon. In all this recalibrating it’s made me really appreciate how loving and goofy wood pigeons are, especially compared to their feral counterparts.
I really dig all their Pixar expressions, and since we’ve added birdfeeders to our windows we get regular visits throughout the day to appreciate them which I really love!

Learned about these during a guided mushroom tour I’d got as a gift and it’s super fun to watch for these little steps going up the trees. I especially love how they become living architecture for other things to use

At work we had a small competition for the birdspotting app, and the winners got lil bird plushies which I found absolutely ADORABLE but I lost 😭 so I seethed in envy for months until finally I ordered one for myself to celebrate all my progress in bird photography, and to help me emotionally since he’s been quite a great emotional support in the end with its fluffy round belly to hug

Champions of “Being there but not”, I thought this was some more elusive bird than it is before starting to recognise the wingspan and call.
From then they become instead constant distant partners, always looping and whistling high above your head, but never quite there, never quite close enOUGH TO TAKE AN ACTUAL PROPER PIC I WILL GET YOU STOP BEING SO FAST DAMMIT

Such kind and affectionate animals, the pain of what we do to them hurts every time you look them in their big mirror eyes. I had the occasion to hug some at a refuge and it was a lovely experience <3

What to even say? They domesticated themselves and we’re lucky they were too lazy to go any further in their conquest. They’ve been here to help me get through my life at every step and I’ve tried to repay back their love tenfold ❤️
They have very varied personalities, mostly weird and sometimes assholes but I really dig them which is why i’m a catgirl :p

Probably one of nature’s most adorable creation, and a constant reminder of how creepy hares are in comparison. To think people eat these things gladly, but that's just the tip anyway.
